What is Cancer?: Cancer is known medically as Malignant neoplasm, is term for a large group of different diseases all involving UNREGULATED OR UNCONTROLLED growth of cells. In cancer, cells divide and grow uncontrollably forming tumor. These tumors invade nearby organ.
Tumors are classified as-: 1. Malignant
2. Benign
Major types of cancer are named as per type of cells that resembles and presumed to be the origin. These are as follows: 1. Carcinoma-derived from epithelial cells.(like Brest,Ovary,Lung,Colon,Pancreas).

2. Sarcoma-arising from connective tissues like bone, cartilage.

3.Lymphoma-arising from Lymph nodes.

4.Germ cell tumor-derived frompluripotent cells present in testicles and ovary.

5.Blastoma-derived from "precursor cells" or embryonic tissue.

6.Leukemia-arising from blood cells.
: CAUSES OF CANCER-
It is almost impossible to prove exactly what causes Cancer in an individual.Caners are caused primarily by Environmental and Genetic factor.: These are like
Tobacco,Smoking,Diet,Radiation,Obesity,Alcohol,Pollutants.
Following are few factors which may lead to cancer.
A.CHEMICAL-Subsatnaces that causes DNA mutations are called as Mutagens and mutagens that cause known as Carcinogens.Tobacco contains more than 50 known carcinogens and it is responsible for about one in five of all cancer deaths worldwide. B.DIET AND EXERCISE-Physical inactivity,unhealthy diet,obesity accounts large percentage of cancer cases.Diet that are low in vegetables,fruits,whole grains and high processed or red meat are associated with no.of cancers. C.INFECTIONS-Viruses that can cause cancer is known as Oncovirus.: Like,
1.Human Pappiloma virus(cervical cancer) 2.Epstein-Barr virus (B cells lymphoproliferation diseases) 3.Kaposi's sarcoma herpesvirus. 4.Hepatitis B & C (hepatocellular carcinoma).
D.RADIATION-Major percentage of invasive cancers are related to over exposure to Radiation including ionizing and non-ionizing.
E.GENETIC-These are the cancers caused by inherited genetic defect.Certain inherited mutations in genes like BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 with more than 70% risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS-

PREVENTION-
It is active measure to decrease the risk of cancer.Majority of cancers are caused by Environmental factors which are controllable.
Large percentage of cancers are considered preventable by avoiding risk factors like Tobacco, Smoking,Obesity,Physical inactivity,Unhealthy diet.
Risk of developing cancer can be reduced by diet like: 1.Eating mostly foods of plant origin.
2.Limiting intake of processed meat.
3.Limiting intake of alcohol and smoking.
SCREENING-: Screening method includes physical examination.Mammogrphy,blood tests,urine tests,medical imaging like CT scan,MRI.

STAGING AND GRADING-
These are the method used to evaluate the size,metastasis,grade of cancer.This is also called as TNM staging.
MANAGEMENT-
Management of cancer have many options available like 1.Surgery 2.Chemotherapy 3.Radiation therapy 4.Immunotherapy 5.Monoclonal Antibody therapy 6.Palliative care.
